ThermoEnergy has received a contract to supply its CAST flash distillation system for a new wastewater recovery system at a municipal treatment plant in the western region of the US.
The CAST flash vacuum distillation is a physical-chemical process, which uses temperature and reduces pressure to separate chemicals, metals and nutrients from wastewater
The system will be combined with an ion exchange resin system to recover wastewater from concentration salts, organics, suspended solids and fine colloidal material.
Once operational, the system will have treatment capacity for 3,000gal of wastewater a day.
