Tri-Tech Beijing, a subsidiary of Chinese firm Tri-Tech Holding, has received an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development (BUIDC) in India.
Under the $42m contract, Tri-Teh will provide EPC services to three sewerage collection system and sewerage treatment plants in Hajipur, Begusarai and Buxar Towns, which are located along the Ganga River in the Indian state of Bihar.
The company will develop, design and construct sewage treatment plants with daily treatment capacity of 22,000m3 at Hajipur, 17,000m3 at Begusarai, and 16,000m3 at Buxar.
The firm will also construct a complete sewerage collection system covering each town, and provide operation and maintenance services for the systems and treatment plants for the five years following completion.
The projects will be funded by the National Ganga River Basin Authority, which aims to reduce pollution levels and improve water quality from the Ganga River.
