Unitywater to research new purifying methods

28 September 2011

Unitywater is to work in collaboration with the University of Queensland and Veolia Water Australia to investigate new methods of purifying treated wastewater at its Caboolture sewage treatment plant in Queensland, Australia.

The project will be funded by Veolia Water Australia, Seqwater and the University of Queensland and will be developed in two stages.

The University of Queensland's Advanced Water Management Centre researchers will examine the impact of water quality on materials used in the recycling process.

The first stage involves assessing effluents produced by different wastewater treatment technologies, and the second phase will evaluate the performance of membrane filtration systems and assess the impact of feed water quality.
