USAID awards $1bn water service contract to Engility

US Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded a $1bn Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) multiple-award contract to technology service provider Engility Holdings.

Under the five year contract, Engility will offer technical advisory services to USAID.

The firm had signed a Water II IDIQ Contract with USAID earlier as well. The new contract is a continuation of the company’s work under the previous contract.

The US based company will offer variety of technical services for USAID under the Water and Development IDIQ (WADI) which will include multi-year projects, to USAID/Washington bureaus and USAID global missions.

Task orders under the contract can be issued as per cost plus fixed fee or firm fixed price basis.

Engility president and CEO Tony Smeraglinolo said: "Improved water management and food security are important for creating economic growth and reducing poverty for millions of people around the world.

"Through this WADI award, Engility will continue to support USAID programmes to meet this development challenge."

The contract is intended to ensure food security and boost development through improvement to water, supply, sanitation and hygiene in the world. It will also promote sound management of water.
