Waterleau Group buys Ecovation and Krofta Technologies
Waterleau Group has acquired the anaerobic biological wastewater treatment plant design-build business of Ecovation, as well interests of Krofta Technologies and its DAF technology from Ecolab.
Based in Victor, New York, Waterleau USA is a newly formed organisation that provides customers with access to a portfolio of technologies, as well as a single-source for customised anaerobic, aerobic and membrane wastewater solutions for the food and beverage industry.
Waterleau USA has been formed after Waterleau Group's acquisition of Ecovation, which offers design-build solutions for water and wastewater treatment to North American customers in diiferent industries.
Waterleau USA president Willy Gils said: "With the acquisitions of Ecovation and Krofta, Waterleau USA offers the North American market the best technology people armed with years of industry smarts, backed up with an in-house portfolio of technologies that can be combined in an optimal way to meet almost any environmental wastewater need.
"Our speed to design-build and flexibility within our technology portfolio offers a true custom-tailored solution for the most challenging applications.
"This results in efficient, reliable and on-time engagements that reduce the overall water footprint, turn waste water to process water, create opportunities for green fuel, optimise treatment systems, all helping to reduce plant downtime and increase capacity."
Technologies used by Ecovation feature primary solutions for aerobic and anaerobic biological wastewater treatment, integrating the entire treatment process.
The acquisition will now enable Ecovation to access Waterleau Group's environmental technologies and services.
This will facilitate Waterleau USA to increase its range of treatment solutions and expand its position in the North American market.
Based in Dalton, Massachusetts, Krofta designs and delivers Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) clarifiers for wastewater treatment and liquid-solid separation.
Under the deal, Waterleau Group is partnered by BMI-SBI, the Belgian semi-public investment company, which is co-financing and supporting the present transaction.
