Xylem introduces pump controller to optimise wastewater pumping efficiency
Xylem, a global water technology company, has introduced a compact plug-and-play pump controller that comes with advanced monitoring and control capabilities to optimise wastewater pumping efficiency.
The controller was introduced at the IFAT trade show in Munich, Germany.
Called Flygt FGC400, it is a self-contained, intuitive controller with pre-programmed functionality that enables the operator to quickly and easily install and configure the unit to match particular wastewater pumping requirements.
The controller can be easily connected to one or two pumps, thereby offering the pump operator flexibility, including the ability to alternate between pumps, track information on pump performance and then accordingly undertake maintenance actions.
Aspects such as energy measurement, data loggers and level monitoring are all built into the compact unit, thereby removing the need for complex electrical cabinets and making it a cost-efficient monitoring solution.
Besides its integrated motor protection functionality automatically monitors and protects the pump motor against voltage phase failure, overload and voltage fluctuations.
Operators can identify potential pump problems as preventative maintenance and trouble-shooting information alerts them.
Xylem director for monitoring and control Magnus Lindberg said, "No two wastewater pumping facilities are identical, and an operator's pump requirements change constantly.
