Sulzer has provided HST turbocompressors to new treatment plants for 20 years. With the newly created fast-track set-up, selected versions of the turbocompressor HST 20 and HST 2500 are now made available also for rapidly needed replacements of existing blowers and compressors.
With the increasing age of wastewater treatment plants, the operators not only experience growing operating costs, but also face the risk of a malfunction or an operation failure. This applies in particular to the field of aeration, which is mission critical to the treatment process.
Old blowers and compressors consume a large part of the total energy of a wastewater treatment plant. Instead of repairing or replacing a blower one for one with the same make and model, the operators would benefit from the HST turbocompressor that can reduce the energy costs for aeration by up to 50% and, what is more, offers a pay-back within two years.
In addition to lower power consumption, the replacement of an existing machine by a Sulzer HST turbocompressor provides higher reliability, significantly lower maintenance costs, and quieter operation. Since the HST compressors work without oil for lubrication and without any other polluting liquids, they also contribute to a cleaner working environment. A further big advantage of the turbo technology is the high efficiency of almost the entire control range.
