Dinotec to construct Haiti water treatment plant

Spain-based water engineering company Dinotec will supply, install and operate a new water treatment plant in the city of Jacmel, southern Haiti.

The treatment plant uses coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and chlorination to purify the water. It will have a processing rate of 50l/sec, and is able to supply drinking water to a population of around 43,000.

Funding was provided by the Spanish Agency for Cooperation and Development (AECID) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The new plant is the company’s second action in Haiti after the January 2010 earthquake. At the time of the quake, it provided several modular stations in support of NGOs that arrived to help displaced people.

Haiti – Technology : A water treatment plant for Jacmel
Dinotec, a Spanish company of of water engineering, located in Andalusia, will bring its technology to the people of Haiti, especially in the city of Jacmel, where it will supply, install and put into operation a water treatment plant.

This infrastructure of water treatment is part of a project funded by the Spanish Agency for Cooperation and Development (AECID) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for access to drinking water for the population of Jacmel.

The treatment plant which comprises the steps of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and chlorination, have a rate of 50 liters/second is able to supply a population of approximately 43,000 inhabitants.

The supply of this water treatment plant in Haiti is the second action of Dinotec made in Haiti after the January 2010 earthquake, when the company had brought several stations modular in support of the NGOs who came to help displaced people in camps.
