STW Resources to deploy Salttech water desalination technology

STW Resources will deploy Netherlands-based Salttech’s water desalination processing technology as part of a licensing agreement for the US.

According to STW, Salttech’s green DyVaR technology for water processing does not use chemicals or membranes and is a zero-liquid-discharge process. STW will deploy DyVaR as exclusive licensed technology integrator and manufacturer in the US.

The technology is used for the treatment of saline liquids, and also produces customer-specific products out of saline waste or process streams.

STW CEO Stanley Weiner said that both companies are working with oil producers to reclaim produced and frac flowback water for reuse in drilling and fracking operations, preserving freshwater resources. The companies are also providing clean drinking water for camps in the oilfields.

STW is currently working with municipalities to provide fresh drinking water from brackish water sources. It is in the final stages of contracting multiple cities and companies to deploy the green technology.

Salttech CEO Gerard Schouten said: "We have proven the efficiency of our technology, both technically and economically, in various industries in Europe and now are ready to enter the huge US market with STW as technology integrator and partner."
