Hong Kong Invests in Reprovisioning

Hong Kong Water Supplies Department has awarded a $100m design and construction consultancy agreement for the in situ-reprovisioning of the South Works of the Sha Tin Water Treatment plant.

Once complete the plant will produce 550,000 cubic metres of water per day.

The contract also includes reprovisioning of a fresh water pumping station, the administration building, the laboratory and other associated water-treatment facilities.

The proposed contract is expected to begin in 2012 and will facilitate water supplies to a major part of the metropolitan area of Hong Kong and Sha Tin.
