Alfa Laval wins Australian water treatment contract

Alfa Laval has received an order from an Australian energy company to supply a water treatment system for cleaning natural gas production wastewater.

The Skr90m ($14m) energy and environment order is scheduled to be delivered in 2014.

Alfa Laval has designed and pre-engineered the modular water treatment system, which includes various compact heat exchangers.

The system’s compact and modular plate technology will evaporate wastewater, significantly reducing the amount of waste for disposal.

Alfa Laval Group president and CEO Lars Renström said that the order reflects increasing demand from the gas industry.

"It also confirms that our unique modular water treatment system lives up to the high demands on performance and reliability from the major players in the industry," Renström added.

Alfa Laval provides specialised products and engineering solutions based on heat transfer, separation and fluid handling.
