Chile to invest in irrigation projects next year

The Chilean government is expected to spend $104m to finance irrigation projects over the next year, planned by the national irrigation commission, CNR.

A total of CLP41bn (80.27m) will be used for irrigation and drainage projects under Chilean federal law.

Agriculture development agency Indap will receive CLP12bn ($23.4m) to finance it.

CNR’s irrigation programme will also include an additional CLP6.5bn ($12.72m) from the public works ministry’s budget for midsize reservoirs, reports Bnamericas.
