Electro Scan teams up with App Orchid to integrate data to assess water infrastructure

US based Electro Scan has formed an alliance with App Orchid to use the latter’s cognitive-based ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) solution to integrate databases and boost water and sewer utility business.

While Electro Scan provides leak detection instrumentation and cloud applications for the water, sewer, and gas pipeline industries, App Orchid is a technology manufacturer who offers advanced cognitive-based solutions to gather, standardise, and disseminate collective workforce information across enterprises through adaptive, intuitive and gamified applications.

The partners will combine their expertise to form an industry-specific ontology of ‘wisdom nuggets’ based on IoT.

With combined efforts, the firms can innovate strategies through analysis of big data and social media to offer deep insight for a utility’s ongoing business processes.

This can be helpful for water and sewer utilities which experience water losses or overflows due to leaking infrastructure or other wet weather events.
