HR Wallingford partners with Siemens for water infrastructure monitoring solutions

Siemens UK and Ireland has formed a strategic technology partnership with UK based engineering consultant HR Wallingford to strengthen infrastructure monitoring solutions for the water industry.

The two firms are expected to take a collaborative approach to meet the existing industry demands and plan for the future ones. They will be initiating efforts to develop and deliver real-time solutions for dams and flood defence infrastructure.

Siemens will offer its IT and monitoring expertise to HR Wallingford to help improve the level of information for asset investment decisions, improve emergency planning capabilities, develop advanced preventative maintenance and help reduce costs of reactive maintenance.

The firms plan to offer real time infrastructure monitoring solution for dams (RTIM-d).

The solutions will be able to help with detailed assessment of issues affecting the dam site, besides offering design and specification of a bespoke system of third party sensors, continuous intelligent monitoring and modular consequence modelling tools to facilitate smarter asset management.
