i2O strengthens software development team to improve smart water networks

UK-based smart water network solutions company i2O has increased the size of its software development team to double over the last 12 months.

The team has been strengthened in a bid to ensure that i2O’s water utility clients can obtain optimum value and insight about their smart water networks.

i2O CEO Joel Hagan said: “We are striving constantly to develop new functionality that helps water utilities meet the challenges caused by population growth, more frequent extreme weather events and increasingly demanding customers.

“The talent and capacity we now have in the business will help us deliver greater functionality at pace and maximise the environmental, financial and customer service value that can be achieved through smart water networks.”

The company recruited ten new software developers last year, thereby taking the total number of its software personnel to 20.

i2O recruited skilled mobile, cloud and ‘big data’ engineers who possess experience in the utilities, security, aerospace and media industries.

Led by i2O Software Development head Michael Saunders, the expanded team of developers will focus on the continuous advancement and improvement of the company’s cloud-based platform.

The team will also work to develop analytics with an aim to offer i2O’s added actionable insight to water utility clients on their water network performance collected from permanently deployed loggers.

In July last year, i2O unveiled a new software tool, iNet software, which would enable water utility companies to monitor their networks as well as enhance performance, visualisation and maintenance using data.
