STW Water expands JV with Sunstone Water Group

STW Water Process and Technologies, a subsidiary of US based water technology firm STW Resources, has expanded its joint venture deal with Sunstone Water Group to commercialise their patented wastewater effluent treatment technology for municipal use.

Sunstone, which also possesses technology solutions for processing high TDS water and can manufacture reverse osmosis systems, will be moving its US manufacturing operations to STW’s headquarters in Midland, Texas.

According to the agreement signed between the partner companies, Sunstone and STW will integrate their respective technologies to offer reliable package of water purification services for municipalities.

The joint venture will bring together water technologies which can treat contaminated water for potable reuse.

It will also introduce specialised water treatment systems including Reclaimed Municipal ‘New’ Water Technology and Zero Liquid Discharge Salt Removal Technology to the market.

STW will be co-manufacturing the Sunstone systems at its Midland facility and will also support sales and distribution of Sunstone’s Desalinator technology.

STW Water president Alan Murphy said: "One of the many Sunstone technologies is capable of processing and cleaning this contaminated municipal wastewater to specs that are cleaner than the bottled water that is bought in stores every day.

"We have the technology to clean and process nearly every type of contaminated water for reuse now.

"Everyone needs to realise that water is a commodity that has to be conserved in every way possible."
