Epcor Water to acquire Arizona project from Global Water

Epcor AZ has signed an agreement with Global Water Resources to acquire an around 7,000-acre project in Glendale, Arizona, US, for approximately $4.1m.

Epcor will provide wastewater and recycled water services to the area located in the Loop 303 Corridor of Glendale. It will also assume existing agreements and master-planning responsibilities and provide wastewater and recycled water services for the western area of Glendale.

Epcor USA president Joe Gysel said that the company is currently providing treated water and wastewater services to a large portion of the West Valley.

"We are committed to the opportunity to expand our service to this growing area in the Greater Phoenix region and to work in partnership with the City of Glendale as it continues to look toward its future," Gysel added.

Epcor has provided water and wastewater services to around 193,000 customer connections across 14 municipalities and six counties in the US.

Global Water chairman and CEO Trevor Hill said: "We feel confident that Epcor, which is already the water provider for most of the area, will fulfill the obligations to the landowners and the City as it prepares for additional development and growth."

Epcor AZ also signed an agreement to acquire North Mohave Valley in April. Epcor USA acquired American Water’s Arizona and New Mexico assets and operations in February, and Chaparral City Water in 2011.
