Tidewater wins DAFB water privatisation contract

Tidewater Utilities, a subsidiary of US-based Middlesex Water, has won a contract from the US Department of Defense for the privatisation of the Dover Air Force Base (DAFB) water system in Delaware.

Under the 50-year agreement, Tidewater will provide potable water services to the DAFB. It plans to integrate the DAFB water system into its regulated utility operations.

All DAFB water utility assets will be owned and maintained by Tidewater and it will make all necessary capital improvements to provide continued reliable utility services to the base.

Middlesex Water Company president and CEO Dennis Doll said that the company is extraordinarily proud to have a modest role in support of the mission of the 436th and 512th Airlift Wings at Dover Air Force Base, a premier US military facility.

"The community outreach by the Base over time has provided a humbling opportunity for us to understand firsthand, the incredible contributions and sacrifices made by the many military personnel and civilian employees on Base, in support of our troops and their families," added Doll.
