Virginia county seeks to lease water infrastructure land to wireless carriers

Wireless infrastructure development and management firm Milestone Communications will include 68 Washington County in a portfolio of available sites for potential wireless infrastructure expansion.

Wireless carriers seek to expand their networks to reduce gaps in coverage and serve growing usage by their subscribers.

Milestone Communications constructs and manages cell towers through partnerships with government and public landowners, leases space to carriers and shares lease revenue with the landowners.

In addition, the company also works closely with local communities to provide solutions that are aesthetically and functionally optimised for their environments.

Washington County Service Authority (WCSA) general manager Robbie Cornett said: "We are excited about the opportunity to work with Milestone. Their straightforward approach to what they do and transparent way that they work is simple and reassuring for us."

Milestone CEO Len Forkas said: "WCSA is a great partner for us in Washington County, with sites that present new expansion opportunities for wireless carriers.We look forward to working with them."

The sites, located in southwestern Virginia, include water/wastewater pump stations, water storage plants and water/wastewater treatment plants.
