Bolivia Plans Water and Sanitation Investment

Bolivia’s state owned water utility Epsas is planning to invest $80m to improve water and sanitation services in capital city La Paz and neighbouring city El Alto.

It has already chalked out a plan worth $40m to meet the sanitation and water demand of its service areas and plans to double the investment.

The investment includes building new reservoirs to help cope with the area’s water shortages, as well as building wastewater treatment plants.

The state-owned water utility will also seek funding from multilateral financial entities and foreign aid offices to finance the master plan, according to bnamericas.com.
