Hydro International Wins UK Wastewater Contract

Hydro International has secured a £15.6m ($25m) contract from GBM, a joint venture between Galliford Try, Biwater Treatment and Mott MacDonald, to provide water quality technology systems.

Under the contract for Hydro International’s Zickert Sludge Scraper technology, the company will provide the sludge transportation system for use in sedimentation tanks.

The system will be deployed on the £63m Thames Water project to upgrade sewage treatment works in Beckton, UK.

The system will start operating in 2011 and is expected to reduce operating and infrastructure costs on the wastewater project, according to envirotech-online.com.
