Wabag Secures Indian Water Treatment Plant Contract

VA Tech Wabag, under a consortium, has secured a Rs2.9bn ($63m) contract from Kakatiya and Rayalaseema Thermal Power Projects in the Indian state of Andhrapradesh.

The project includes raw water pre-treatment, a demineralisation plant, a circulating water system, a cooling water chemical dosing system, a cooling water treatment system, an effluent treatment system and a condensate polishing unit.

The project will be implemented within the next 30 months.

The Indian company also won a Rs$2.5bn ($54m) contract from Indian Oil Corporation to set up an effluent treatment plant in the state of Orissa.

The project includes design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the effluent treatment plant and recycling system.
