Brazilian State Floats Sewer Project

The Brazilian state of Sao Paulo has floated a R$39.4m ($22.8m) tender to build trunk sewers in the southern areas of the city of Sao Paulo.

The project includes laying 1.79km of 300mm-diameter pipeline and 2.6km of 600mm-diameter pipeline, according to bnamericas.com.

The project is financed by Inter American Development Bank (IDB) and is being carried out under phase III of the $1.05bn Tiete River sanitation project, scheduled for completion in 2016.

Sao Paulo’s state water utility Sabesp, which is executing the project, seeks clarification on the project until 9 December.
