Peru to Invest in Water Projects

The National bank of Peru Banco de la Nacion is to extend a PEN122m ($43.3m) loan to carry out potable water and sewage projects throughout the country.

The funds will be used to make improvements to potable water and sewerage systems in cities including Juanjui, Rioja and Saposoa, which will receive PEN51m ($18m), PEN23m ($8m) and PEN48m ($17m), respectively, from the loan.

The loan extended to Juanjui will mature in January 2014, while the other two loans will mature in January 2013, according to andina.com.
