Brazilian State to Carry Out $65m Water Supply Project

The Brazilian state of Alagoas is to invest R$111m ($65m) in improving its water supply.

The project’s work includes drilling wells, installing pipelines, rebuilding the Cardoso water treatment plant and finishing the Pratagy water pumping station.

Out of the total investment R$61.5m ($36m) will be invested in state capital Maceio, according to waterworld.com.

Alagoas will also set aside R$10.6m ($6m) for improvements to the municipal water supplies of Rio Largo and Palmeira dos Indios, and R$39m ($23m) to carry out improvements to water supply networks.
