Brazilian State to Build $120m Sanitation Project

Sabesp, the water utility of Brazilian state Sao Paulo, is to build a $120m sewage system for the city of Sao Jose dos Campos.

Six bidders have prequalified for the project: Construtora Passareli and Delta Construçoes, Consorcio Aterpa, Sonel e Enotec, Pararangaba (Gomes Lourenço, Tejofran and Araguaia), Consorcio OHL, Cesbe and Elevaçao, and SES Pararangaba (OAS, Etesco and Ype).

Work on the project involves building a wastewater treatment plant, trunk sewers, pumping stations, domestic sewerage connections and pipelines.

The new sewage system will treat wastewater in the eastern part of Sao Jose dos Campos.

The winning bidder will have 30 months to complete the project and will operate the sewerage system under a 20-year concession.
