Brazil to Invest in PAC Sanitation Projects

Brazil has earmarked R$80m ($48m) from its growth acceleration plan PAC to carry out sanitation projects in Salvador, the state capital of Bahia.

The money was given to state water utility Embasa to carry out sanitation works in the city’s Cambunas, Trobogi and Aguas Claras basins, according to bnamericas.com.

Brazil has so far allocated R$567m ($338m) to Embasa for sanitation work under phase II of PAC.

The funding was extended to carry out sanitation projects in Teixeira de Freitas, Barreiras and Lauro de Freitas, which will receive R$70m ($41.8m), R$55m ($32.8m) and R$45m ($26.8m), respectively.
