Peruvian State Plans $433m Water and Sanitation Investment

The Peruvian state of Cuzco is to invest PEN1.2bn ($433m) into water and sanitation projects.

The plan includes improving the region’s potable water, sanitation and solid waste management.

The proposed projects include the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, the clean-up of the Huatanay River basin and the construction of a solid waste treatment plant and disposal centre.

The plan will be carried out over the next ten years with the support of international financial entities and the government of Peru, according to bnamericas.com.
