Thames Water to Award $822m Sewerage Contract

UK water utility Thames Water is to award a £510m ($822m) contract to improve sewer facilities in its service area.

The project involves increasing the number of Thames Water-operated sewer pipes by 60%, which is the equivalent of 40,000km.

Project tasks include blockage clearance, associated civil works and ancillary activities such as jetting and sewer reconstruction.

The contract will be awarded for an initial period of three and half years, with the option to extend to up to eight and a half years, according to www.cnplus.co.uk.
