CAF, World Bank to Part-Fund Peruvian Water Management Project

The Andean Development Corporation and the World Bank Group are to provide $57m towards improving Peru’s water resources management over the next five years.

The funding includes $43m from the World Bank for the management of six hydrographic basins, while the Andean Development Corporation will provide $14m for three basins.

The Government of Peru will provide additional funding.

The projects will establish management systems to boost the implementation of a water resources management plan, according to andina.com.

In addition, the projects aim to grant water use rights, improve the hydrometeorological network, maintain equipment and hydraulics works, implement a quality management programme and promote water culture.
