Business Stream to Provide Water Services to Scotland’s Public Sector

Business Stream has secured a £220m ($358m) contract from Procurement Scotland to provide supply water services to Scotland’s entire public sector over the next three years.

Under the contract, Business Stream, a unit of Scottish Water, will provide water supply services to 220 public sector bodies in 17,000 locations.

The Scottish public sector is expected to save between £18.6m and £24.5m over the life of the contract.

Business Stream will continue to work with public sector organisations to review water and wastewater practices, providing recommendations of how water efficiency can be improved.

As part of the deal, public sector bodies can also participate in a gainsharing scheme in which Business Stream will install new water efficiency infrastructure and take a share of any savings made.

Business Stream will also provide the organisations’ access to its range of additional services, including emergency support, which helps customers locate leaks.
