USAID to Renovate Pakistani Water Supply System

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government of Pakistan have signed an agreement to revitalise the water supply system in the city of Peshawar.

The project will be implemented at a cost of $55m, which may reach $90m as work progresses, according to thenews.com.pk.

The project will replace the old water supply system with a drinking water supply pipeline network, and will ensure a water supply for the next 40 years, according to USAID regional director Edward Birgells.
