US State to Build Wastewater Treatment Plant

The US state of Missouri has granted a $37.8m loan to the Little Blue Valley Sewer District to construct water projects to improve the collection and treatment of wastewater in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

The projects will protect the quality of the region’s water supplies and provide economic benefits to the area through the expansion of its infrastructure.

The loan will be used for the construction of a new regional wastewater treatment plant at Pleasant Hill and to upgrade the existing wastewater treatment plant for additional sludge storage.

The new plant will serve the regions of Pleasant Hill, portions of Raymore in Cass County, Lee’s Summit, Greenwood and Lake Winnebago in Jackson County.

The projects are expected to be completed by 2013.
