Jamaica to Implement $211m Water Supply Project

The National Water Commission (NWC) of Jamaica is to carry out the Jamaica Water Supply Improvement Project at a cost of $211m.

The project will provide an additional 20 million gallons of water to residents in Kingston, St Andrew and St Catherine.

The projects includes the replacement of the Rio Cobre pipeline, the establishment of the Constant Spring Water Treatment Plant with a capacity of 20 million gallons per day and the rehabilitation of the Seaview Water Treatment Plant.

The project will also involve the extraction of water in the Halls Green / Temple Hall area, allowing the NWC to supply water to residents in that area without having to rely solely on the Seaview plant.

The project will also provide an additional 20 million gallons of water per day to the Corporate Area.
