Consortium Wins Pachacutec-Ventanilla Water Project in Peru

A Peruvian consortium consisting of construction firms Grana y Montero and Abengoa Peru has won a PEN326m ($118m) contract to implement the Pachacutec-Ventanilla water project in the city of Callao, Peru.

The two firms each have a 50% stake in the consortium, according to bnamericas.com.

Under the project, the consortium will design and build a wastewater treatment plant and install 600km of potable water and sewerage pipelines, as well as domestic connections.

The project is being carried out under the Peruvian Government’s Agua Para Todos (water for everyone) programme.

The project will provide water for approximately 150,000 residents in Callao’s Ventanilla district.
