Allconnex to Embark on $50m Redland Water Infrastructure Projects

Allconnex Water in Australia is to spend $50m over the next five years on improving the water infrastructure of the city of Redland, Queensland, including new water mains for Coochiemudlo Island.

The investment is part of the $1bn infrastructure budget for Allconnex’s Logan Redland and Gold Coast regions over the next five years, reports Bayside Bulletin.

Allconnex CEO Kim Wood said the money would be spent on the Coochiemudlo Island project, as well as upgrading the Point Lookout Wastewater Treatment Plant and laying reticulation mains.

“We have been able to save more than $16m in interest this year and forecast total interest savings in excess of $33m by next year and continued savings into the future,” Wood said.
