GE Agrees Water Equipment Deal for South African Power Plant

GE has signed an agreement with Eskom to provide advanced water and wastewater equipment for Eskom’s Kusile Power Plant in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

The equipment will filter 250 million litres of water every day to be used in the power plant and will reduce operating costs and increase efficiency, according to GE.

GE will provide boiler feed water treatment for ultra-pure water, six condensate polishing plants and wastewater treatment to engineering firm PD Naidoo and Associates, which is building the power plant for Eskom under a $40m contract.

Eskom is a state-owned utility that generates approximately 95% of the electricity used in South Africa.
