Sionix to Supply Water Treatment Systems in Japan

US-based water treatment company Sionix Corporation is to provide 30 mobile water treatment systems to TII Trading International Investment, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two companies.

The mobile systems will be used to remediate water contaminated by the 11 March earthquake and tsunami in Japan through the removal of radioactive contaminants.

TII will fund the purchase of the systems through a loan.

TII and Sionix also plan to form a joint venture to provide long-term fabrication and assembly of mobile water treatment systems across various refugee centres in Japan.

One mobile system will be transported to Japan to be tested on site, then Sionix will begin the fabrication and assembly of 29 additional systems.

TII, an operating subsidiary of SAPO International, is responsible for the supply of equipment and technology related to Japan’s disaster relief efforts.
