Malaysia to Complete Kuching Project First Phase by 2012

Malaysia’s Sewerage Services Department Sarawak is to complete the first phase of the Kuching Centralised Sewerage System project by the end of 2012.

Construction of the MYR530m ($175m) project started in October 2008.

The first phase includes building wastewater treatment plants, central sewage treatment plants and a 64.5km sewer network that covers fives areas of Kuching, according to theborneopost.com.

Construction shafts will be placed in open spaces at traffic islands due to the alignment of the roads and the trunk sewer.
