Sembcorp to Explore Water Projects in China’s Shandong Province

Sembcorp Utilities and Sembcorp Industrial Parks, subsidiaries of Singapore-based Sembcorp, have signed contract agreements with Jinan Quancheng Water and Rizhao Municipal People’s Government.

Sembcorp Utilities signed a letter of intent with Jinan Quancheng Water to form a joint venture, which will build, own and operate water treatment plants in the east of Jinan City, Shandong Province, China.

Meanwhile, Sembcorp Industrial Parks signed a memorandum of understanding with Rizhao Municipal People’s Government to explore the feasibility of a 6.38km² international marine city in Shandong Province.

The development will consist of industrial and logistics zones, which will focus on marine-related industries and a coastal-urban area zoned for commercial and residential purposes.
