EU and Unicef to Develop Water Projects in Guinea Bissua

The Government of Guinea Bissua, Unicef and the European Union (EU) have launched a joint project to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene to 60,000 people in Guinea Bissua.

The EU will fund €200m ($285m) to construct the water facility, ensuring potable water and basic sanitation access to more people.

The three-year project will benefit residents in the Quinara and Tombali regions, which are in need of water supply, sanitation and good standards of hygiene .

The project will provide support and strength to institutions and authorities at national, regional and local levels, and strengthen the capacities of non-governmental organisations and the private sector to deliver quality services, Unicef said.
