Pennsylvania Receives Funds for Water Infrastructure Projects

The US Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved a loan of $172m to fund 160 water infrastructure projects under the H2O PA programme in 51 counties in the state of Pennsylvania.

The scope of work will include improving inefficient sewer systems in Montgomery County and the construction of five pump stations in Northumberland County.

Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Alan Walker said Pennsylvania’s limited construction season gives urgency to the approved projects.

“These investments will be a great help to cash-strapped municipalities that need to upgrade their ageing and deteriorating water infrastructure systems,” said Walker.
