BioteQ Wins SART Plant Contract for Chilean Mine

BioteQ Environmental has signed a contract with Compania Minera Maricunga to provide process review and commissioning services for a 750m³-per-hour SART plant, which is under construction at the Maricunga mine in Chile.

The SART process, which involves sulphidisation, acidification, recycling and thickening, is expected to improve the environmental footprint for copper-gold deposits.

Under the contract, BioteQ – a specialist in the treatment of industrial wastewater –
will provide engineering services and operations, including safety and environmental performance and the preparation of operating manuals and procedures.

The scope of work includes training local operators, and on-site engineering supervision of the SART plant operation during commissioning.
