Caern Renews Sanitation Contract with Brazilian Municipality

Brazil’s Rio Grande do Norte state water utility Caern will renew its sanitation concession contract with the city of São José de Mipibu to provide water infrastructure services.

Under the temporary agreement, the company will provide water supply and sewerage services to the municipality until December 2013.

A definitive contract is expected to be signed in July, reports Business News Americas.

The utility is currently carrying out $4.68m sewerage improvement services which are expected to be complete in July next year.

Caern also plans to conduct a survey on water losses in Laranjeira do Abdias, once the contract is renewed.
