Peruvian Utility to Begin Operations at Water Plant Next Month

Peru water utility Sedapal will begin operations at the $181m Huachipa potable water plant from next month.

The plant will provide water to 2.4 million residents in eight eastern and northern districts of the Peruvian capital of Lima.

Comprising two 9,000m³ storage tanks, the facility will have an initial production capacity of 5m³/s, reports Business News Americas.

A Huascacocha reservoir which will transfer 2.6m³/s from the Rímac river is also being built to increase the supply for the Huachipa plant by 48.6Mm³/y.
