Malaysian Authority to Upgrade Water Supply Systems

The Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) in Malaysia has allocated more than MYR220m ($72m) to upgrade water supply systems in all of its land development schemes throughout the country in 2011.

Upgrading works will enable settlers in all FELDA land schemes to receive clean and quality piped water supply, reports Malaysian news agency Bernama.

FELDA chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said the majority of water pipes in the FELDA land schemes were more than 25 years old and needed to be changed because some were rusty and broken.
