Imbrium to Use Stormwater Treatment Solutions at US Lake

Imbrium Systems is to deploy two treatment solutions to handle stormwater entering Flathead Lake in north-west Montana, US.

Imbrium’s hydrodynamic oil and sediment separator Stormceptor STC 900 will be installed to capture floatable trash, sediment and hydrocarbons before they enter the lake.

The second treatment solution, Jellyfish Filter, captures fine sediment and nutrients such as phosphorus, nitrogen and heavy metals.

The restoration is part of Montana’s Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) plan to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus by 15% at the lake to protect its aquatic life and ecosystem.

DEQ also intends to preserve its fishing, boating and recreational opportunities at the impaired water body.

The project will be funded by Montana’s Departments of Commerce, Environmental Quality and Natural Resources and Conservation.
