McCarthy Secures SJRA Water Facilities Project

The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) in Texas, US, has awarded a surface water facilities project worth $191m to US firm McCarthy.

The project will allow treated surface water from Lake Conroe to be distributed throughout Montgomery County in order to provide fresh surface water to the area.

The scope of work will include construction of a raw water intake and pump station, a water treatment plant, a high service pumping station and storage.

The water treatment plant will have an initial capacity of 30 million gallons per day, with the possibility for future expansion.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.

McCarthy will work in collaboration with SJRA to manage preconstruction and construction services for the project.
