Draft Plans Submitted for Goan Sewerage Treatment Plant

The Government of Goa has received a draft plan from a consultancy team for a Rs2.5bn ($54m) sewerage treatment plant to be built in Goa, India, according to The Times of India.

Ponda Municipal Council chairperson Kishore Naik said that the project will begin once approval from the Sewerage and Infrastructure Development Corporation of Goa is received.

The central government will fund 75% of the project’s costs, while the remaining funds will come from the state government.

The aim of the project is to resolve sewage disposal issues of the Ponda and Marcaim assembly constituencies.
