Ontario to invest $19.5m in clean water technologies

The Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, Canada, is to spend $19.5m on a new partnership to develop clean water technologies in the region.

Universities, private sector companies, municipalities and not-for-profit organisations will work together with the Southern Ontario Water Consortium to develop, test and pilot market-driven water technologies for regional and world markets.

The agency’s investment will be used to buy and install equipment to set up the water system.

The project is being developed in response to the private sector’s need to access water on a watershed level, and research expertise to advance water-related technologies.
